1968 Plymouth Roadrunner Post Coupe -
50th Anniversary
It’s the golden anniversary of the Plymouth Road Runner! Fifty years ago, Plymouth set out to develop a street machine solely focused on performance. Options were few, comfort was minimal, but the performance was undeniable.
The Plymouth Road Runner was a driver’s car—not for the faint of heart. Sitting behind the wheel in a simple bench seat, peering over the vented hood, with only the essential gauges on the dash, and a giant shifter protruding directly from the floor let you know instantly this bird meant business. The BEEP-BEEP horn may have sounded lighthearted, but when the gas hit the floor, the throaty exhaust notes let them know this wasn’t a cartoon.
Auto World has replicated this 1968 in factory-matched Electric Blue Poly and the standard 383 engine with manual transmission.
